Individual Counseling
Counseling is a confidential,* short-term relationship between a student and a counselor that
may involve examining personal attitudes, thoughts, feelings and behaviors. The goal of counseling
is to explore new alternatives, define goals and assist in decision making.

Educational/Support Groups
Topical groups are offered each semester after assessing student interest.
The emphasis is on acquiring new skills and gaining awareness that will promote
individual growth. Groups are facilitated by a professional counselor.
Topics could include:
- Stress management
- Enriching the adult student environment
- Assertiveness skills
- Self-esteem
- Coping with loss
- Depression
- Adult children of alcoholics
- Procrastination
(Other groups may be offered as determined by student need.)

The Center is in Bonaventure Hall, Room 213.
Appointments are recommended. You may schedule a confidential appointment by contacting the director at (414) 410-4095 or the secretary at (414) 410-4097. All counseling appointments are free of charge.
Counseling services are available Monday through Friday, including some evenings.

*Confidentiality
All medical records and client visits are confidential. No one can have access to patient
records without the written permission of the individual. Confidentiality is broken only in
cases where a client is likely to harm himself/herself, someone else, or jeopardize the welfare
of the University.
