Women’s Studies

Overview

A 24-credit minor in Women’s 24-credit minor in Women’s Studies is available which is both interdisciplinary and multicultural. A Women’s Studies minor will broaden a student’s liberal arts education as well as provide a valuable foundation for careers or graduate study in education, law, history, social work, journalism, health care or business.

In addition, an Associate of Arts degree in Women’s Studies is also available.

Women's Studies Minor Requirements
1. Women’s Studies (WS): WS 101 Introduction to Women’s Studies - (3 Cr.), WS 301 Women’s Studies Seminar - (3 Cr.)
2. History (HS): one class - (3 Cr.)
3. Literature (EN): one class - (3 Cr.)
4. Social Sciences/Religious Studies/Philosophy - (6 Cr.)
5. Two classes from any two of the following: Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Religious Studies, Philosophy, Business, Education
6. Communication Arts/Fine Arts - (6 Cr.)
Two classes from any two of the following: Communication Arts, Art, Theatre, Music
Total Required: 24 credits
