Management Information Systems Major

Overview

The Department of Business and Economics offers five majors leading to Bachelor of Arts degrees — Accounting, Business, International Business and Management Information Systems/Business, and Sport Management.

The Business and Economics Department and the Mathematics and Computer Science Department created the combined Management Information Systems major to meet a need for students with background in efficient and ethical use of management of technology and the information it generates in business environments. Students will learn the fundamentals of business and management as well as technological knowledge and skills.

Undergraduate Degree Programs

Required courses for Major: AC 201, 202, EC 202, BU 235, 301, 307, 311.
Computer Science Courses: CS 212, 240, 305, 361, 407, 415.
Final Culminating Experience: (1.5 credits each) BU 404, CS 404.
Required Auxiliary Courses: (can be counted as part of the core) EC 201, MT 120. Required courses for Minor: AC 201, 202; BU 235; MT 120 plus one AC, BU, EC or CS elective.
