Accounting Major
Overview
The Department of Business and Economics offers five majors leading to Bachelor of Arts degrees — Accounting, Business, International Business and Management Information Systems/Business, and Sport Management.
Accounting is a field in which college graduates can be well compensated as they pursue exciting and rewarding careers. The Bachelor of Arts in Accounting degree at Stritch will prepare you for careers in public accounting, private industry and governmental agencies. Our program also offers the 150 credit hours required to sit for the national Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) exam.
Undergraduate Degree Programs
Accounting Major: 64 credits
Required courses for Major: AC 201, 202, 301, 302, 310, 320, 360, 361, 366, 368; BU 235,
301, 307, 311, 335, 401.
Required auxiliary courses: MT 120, CS 104, EC 201, 202.
Recommended for those interested in CPA or CMA exams: MT 210; CS 306, 415.
Accounting Minor: 34 credits
Required courses for Minor: AC 201, 202, 301, 302; BU 235; EC 201, 202; MT 120;
CS 104 plus one additional accounting course.
