Theater Productions and Musicals

Stritch's theater productions stand out from those at other schools because of the stage experience and participation opportunities for both majors and non-majors, alMove In 1l of whom can work either onstage or offstage in four mainstage productions each year. This varied background gives students an extensive array of skills that they can apply to their future in theater.

Students are often involved in more than one area of a production - including lighting, sound, acting, directing, stagecraft or properties - which allows them to experience a well-rounded and extensive training playground.

Stritch's mission statement reads, in part: "Students are provided with the opportunity to put into practice the skills they have acquired within the academic and studio classroom." With that mission in mind, students participating in theater productions have the opportunity to cross over to other departments to pursue all of their passions within the arts. For example, a theater participant may choose to also study voice and sing in the University Choir. Stritch students receive broad exposure to a wide range of the arts, which leads to a comprehensive arts education not commonly found at larger universities.
